Community / Commons

The commons is where communities hold what they are carrying together.

Social Fabric includes a community knowledge commons substrate designed for shared memory, contribution, retrieval, lineage, and bounded reuse. It is part of how communities keep meaning, trust, and continuity alive over time.

01

What the commons is

The commons in Social Fabric is the stewarded layer where communities hold shared memory, shared knowledge, public narrative, and reusable materials with provenance and governance intact.

02

Substrate versus seeds

The platform already includes a source-backed community knowledge commons substrate. Community knowledge seeds are still a separate build gap and should not be described as already implemented.

03

Shared memory with boundaries

Not everything in the commons should be treated the same. Some materials are public, some shared, some stewarded, and some require deeper trust, review, or contextual handling.

04

Love in action over time

A living commons helps communities remember, heal, teach, and carry work forward. It is part of how tending becomes durable rather than disposable.
